Curriculum

The Jesus University Curriculum will be available for download in the Fall of '08 for the semesters beginning Fall '08. The basis for this curriculum comes from 2 Peter 1, and we quote from The Message.

2 Peter 1:3-9
3 Everything that goes into a life of pleasing God has been miraculously given to us by getting to know, personally and intimately, the One who invited us to God. The best invitation we ever received! 4 We were also given absolutely terrific promises to pass on to you--your tickets to participation in the life of God after you turned your back on a world corrupted by lust.

5 So don't lose a minute in building on what you've been given, complementing your basic faith with good character, spiritual understanding, 6 alert discipline, passionate patience, reverent wonder, 7 warm friendliness, and generous love, each dimension fitting into and developing the others. 8 With these qualities active and growing in your lives, no grass will grow under your feet, no day will pass without its reward as you mature in your experience of our Master Jesus. 9 Without these qualities you can't see what's right before you, oblivious that your old sinful life has been wiped off the books.

Our new curriculum will be based on those principles, set forth by Paul and divided as follows.

Basic Faith
Good Character
Spiritual Understanding
Alert Discipline
Passionate Purity
Reverent Wonder
Warm Friendliness
Generous Love

Research and personal experience shows that students are learning less by the traditional "classroom" environment and more by interactivity. So, interactive is key for this new curriculum. The curriculum set will not only include the lessons for your Sunday morning classes, but will also include a guide for small groups, message notes for your worship service and a leaders guide for a small group made up of your professors and support staff.
